LostMonsters.fm: A new music zine that won't suck
With the combined efforts of the golden citizens of the SATS community, I proudly bring a spin-off music zine.
lostmonsters.fm will be our outlet to discuss of new intriguing artists and we hope to show case some exclusive goodies for you in the future. Bookmark and set your dials for the best eclectic coverage in music, and more.
What can I do to help, you ask? Well, some of you know that SATS moved servers the other week, and now shares it's own home on a dedicated host with lostmonsters.fm - a paypal donation account: donate@lostmonsters.fm has been setup while we wait to gather some hits and apply for network ads that should eventually pay the bills.
By donating, you keep sats running, in addition to helping lostmonsters.fm: Uncorrupt the signals, since July 2010.
Your contribution is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
If you have any videography talent that you're interested in putting to use, or useful hookups of any sort feel free to drop me a line: admin@lostmonsters.fm
Mixtape Medication - Interview with Nic Newsham
What have you been up to since Gatsbys went on hiatus?
In the past few years, I have been working as an electrician, I took my journeyman's test and passed that. I bought a little condo in Kirkland, WA as well. I try and play basketball a few times a week. Keeps me sane sometimes. Right when the band ended, I recorded some poppy songs and called it RedRedBlue. I had reason to believe I'd get a deal once the demo was completed but that shit didn't end up happening and I never got band members or anything. Gatsbys toured our dicks off and I just needed to chill. I wanted to play music for fun as opposed to playing over 300 shows a year like we had been doing. I can definitely say that I was burnt the fuck out. So one of my buddies sort of knew how to play bass and his best friend played some drums and during a night of boozin' we thought it would be fun to start a shitty punk band and play bars and stuff, so that was Keith Ledger. Now I'm doing this Princess Dinosaur band with Nick Vombrak who used to be in Dr. Manhattan. All the songs are recorded and we're just waiting on mixing right now, which is happening in June. I think it's some cool stuff and I am assembling a band to play shows and hopefully tour soon.

WE'RE SUPER STOKED TO BE WRAPPING THIS RECORD UP. IT'S BEEN A VERY LENGTHY AND EMOTIONAL PROCESS. WITH TOM'S PASSING WE REALLY WANTED TO SPEND TIME WITH WHAT HE HAD TRACKED AND MAKE SURE THAT WE COULD MAKE THE BEST POSSIBLE RECORD FOR TOM.
AUSTIN HEALY, TIM DULANY AND PHIL PETERSON ASSISTED THE ENGINEERING.
OUR SUPER AMIGO CHRIS COMMON, DRUMMER FROM THESE ARMS ARE SNAKES, MIXED THE RECORD AND MASTER ED BROOKS WILL MASTER.
SWEET. WE'LL BE DOING SOME TOURING IN AUGUST.
